Scotland Trip – April 2025

Our 2025 family trip to Scotland was done under poor circumstances, that being the passing of my Grandmother, Agnes.

That was the main reason for our trip. It was also my first time being back in Scotland in over 10 years. Much of what I remember about living there up until I was 13 quickly came to me as the trip went on. However, returning as a 25-year old was very different. Ofcourse, I had a completely different perspective of life in general with completely different interests. This had me seeing Scotland differently. Instead of spending the whole time hating the bad parts of the country, such as the graffiti, weather, and litter, and the other handful of reasons we decided to move to Canada, I was able to appreciate the country’s beauty. It’s gorgeous countryside & coastal towns and amazing historic architecture.

We decided to make the most of this 10-day trip. This may sound harsh, but we wouldn’t just be going back to Scotland to mourn the loss of my Grandma. Honestly, I don’t know the next time I’ll be back in the UK. There’s an ocean between us. There may only be a handful more times when I go back to this part of the world. So as I always have done on trips, I decided to make the most of it.
